Objective and strategy:-
The Indian space programme is directed toward self Reliance in the use of Space Science and Technology for national development. The main Thrust is given in the area of first satellite Communications for various National application including telecommunications TV broadcast and radio network. Second resources survey and management environmental monitoring and Metrology kal services through remote sensing and third development of indigenous satellites and launch vehicle to achieve the above objectives.
Organisation:-
The Indian space programme was launched in 1962 when the Indian National committee for Space Research was founded. To w e r e added the Indian Space Research Organisation in in 1969 and the space commission and department of space in 1972. The Indian Space Research Organisation ISRO is responsible for the planning execution and management of Space Research activities and space application programs. Research and development activities under the space program are carried out in various centres of ISRO.
