Shanghai Cooperation Organisation

China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan; 
The original five nations, with the exclusion of Uzbekistan, were previously members of the Shanghai Five group, founded on 26 April 1996. Since then, the organisation has expanded its membership to eight countries. when India and Pakistan joined SCO as full members on 9 June 2017 at a summit in Astana, Kazakhstan.

Afghanistan received observer status at the 2012 SCO summit in Beijing, China on 6 June 2012.


China to host 2018 SCO Summit at Qingdao in June. China will host 2018 Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit at Qingdao, eastern Shandong Province in June 2018. China had taken over rotating chair of SCOafter17th SCO summit concluded in Astana, capital of Kazakhstan in June 2017.
